Done in 60mins

It was 60 minutes of honest and practical exchange on what it will take to make progress on equity at home, at work and in society.

I am grateful to God and my vibrant, global lean in community and all investing in the vision of a fairer and more prosperous world.

Grateful to Sheryl and Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation for investing in the dream, Rachel for stewarding the dream and nurturing the shift from US to a global, multicultural community.

My tenure on the board ends and the journey continues to serve on boards with impact on wealth, technology, social mobility, equity and inclusion.

One circle, One ally, One policy, One investment at a time.

My message remains same irrespective of the stage

  • Our ambitions matter
  • We are necessary
  • We all can learn
  • There is space for all to thrive not few
  • We celebrate family and career milestones with equal fervour
  • We need circles of support
  • We need allies to engage with difficult differences
  • We need to proceed and be bold.
  • It is never too early to start shifting disempowering languages others use to refer to us and we use to refer to ourselves
  • We will fail and that is acceptable. We will rise again and try differently
  • Peer mentoring is a critical gamechanger – Start a circle or join a circle
  • Micro sponsorship can be done within 15 mins, an introduction, an email , Do it
  • Embrace and Support the phases of womanhood, puberty for all, adulthood for all, motherhood for some, menopause for all.
  • Likeability penalty is real and it is worse when you are successful, visible and intelligent. It is not you. It is the culture.
  • Research has proven that the girl child is influenced positively by seeing her mother work. Goodbye mum guilt.
  • The work done at home needs to be honoured and recognised. Elevating and Rewarding workplace success and employment above all the tasks at home by mostly women is a dangerous recipe for the society.
